Firefighters bolster efforts to quell south coast blaze
A fire that destroyed a house in a suburban Los Angeles neighborhood has been brought under control, authorities said.
The blaze des룰렛troyed a house on the 300 block of South Main Avenue about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said in a news release.
Firefighters estimated it had raged for four or five hours. It was under control about an hour later and no injuries were reported, the news release said.
The L.A. County Boa여수안마rd of Supervisors unanimously approved an eva포커 의 신cuation of parts of the county and urged the fire department to intensify efforts against it. The council approved additional money Thursday to hire about 50 more firefighters, hire more inspectors, and increase efforts to make a case to residents who may not have otherwise been notified about an imminent fire, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said in a news release.
Fire crews and investigators continue to investigate, officials said.
LAPD and LAFD officials announced plans for a shelter-in-place order Thursday morning, requiring residents without water, electricity, heat or other services at home to stay away.
